Dictionaries usually define scarcity as ‘a situation in which something is not easy to find or get’, and ‘a lack of something’. Nick Szabo has a more useful definition of scarcity: ‘unforgeable costliness’.
“Precious metals and collectibles have an unforgeable scarcity due to the costliness of their creation. This once provided money the value of which was largely independent of any trusted third party but you can’t pay online with metal. Thus, it would be very nice if there were a protocol whereby unforgeably costly bits could be created online with minimal dependence on trusted third parties, and then securely stored, transferred, and assayed with similar minimal trust. Bitcoin has unforgeable costliness, because it costs a lot of electricity to produce new bitcoins. Gold and bitcoin are different from consumable commodities like copper, zinc, nickel, brass, because they have high SF (stock-to-flow ratio.) The high stock-to-flow ratio of gold makes it the commodity with the lowest price elasticity of supply.
So, scarcity can be quantified by SF.
SF = stock / flow
Stock is the size of the existing stockpiles or reserves. Flow is the yearly production. Instead of SF, people also use supply growth rate (flow/stock). Note that SF = 1 / supply growth rate.
Let’s look at some SF numbers.
Gold has the highest SF 62, it takes 62 years of production to get current gold stock. Silver is second with SF 22. This high SF makes them monetary goods.
Bitcoin currently (March 22nd 2019) has a stock of 17.5m coins and supply of 0.7m/yr = SF 25. This places bitcoin in the monetary goods category like silver and gold. Bitcoin’s market value at current prices is $70bn. Supply of bitcoin is fixed.
Stock-to-Flow and Value
The hypothesis in this study is that scarcity, as measured by SF, directly drives value. A look at the table above confirms that market values tend to be higher when SF is higher. Next step is to collect data and make a statistical model.

Bitcoin is the first scarce digital object the world has ever seen, it is scarce like silver & gold, and can be sent over the internet, radio, satellite etc.
Surely this digital scarcity has value. But how much? In this article I quantify scarcity using stock-to-flow, and use stock-to-flow to model bitcoin’s value.
A statistically significant relationship between stock-to-flow and market value exists. The likelihood that the relationship between stock-to-flow and market value is caused by chance is close to zero.
Adding confidence in the model:
Gold and silver, which are totally different markets, are in line with the bitcoin model values for SF.

Veteran Election Officials Say 30,000 Fake Ballots Found In Georgia Audit, ‘They’re Not Real’
After a judge ordered 145,000 Fulton County absentee ballots to be unsealed, “Outside the Beltway” host John Fredericks explained on Steve Bannon’s “War Room Pandemic” series that Georgia election officials are alleging that up to 30,000 of the ballots are fraudulent.
“Six affidavits now, we had four, now it’s six. Six affidavits of veteran election officials are alleging that up to 30,000 of these 147 [thousand] ballots are fake,” said Fredericks. “Somebody printed them up on a machine and ran them through the vote counting machines. They’re not real. They’re not attached to anybody.” Another revelation was that the ballots were unfolded and printed on a different paper than the regular absentee ballots, according to Fredericks.
“Number one, they’re on different paper. What kind of paper are they on? Why isn’t it the same paper that everything else is on? Number two, they’re not folded. Well, what do you mean they’re not folded? In order to get an absentee ballot, you have to get it in the mail,” said Fredericks. “Which means that the Department of Elections in Georgia machine folded the ballot, you can’t have a ballot in an envelope that you mail back, or dropbox back, that’s not folded. You either got it folded, or you send it back folded, or both with an envelope. So why aren’t they folded?”
Additionally, 97% of the ballots were supposedly for Joe Biden and Jon Ossoff, and the affidavits suggest that the bubble marks were made by a machine instead of a pencil, explained Fredericks. “The fourth thing is the affidavits say that these bubble marks are not made by an ink pen or a pencil, that they’re made by a machine.”
“Now, they did an analysis batch of 950 military ballots, 950. I want you to grasp what the findings are. This is a matter of public record, nobody made this up. Out of a batch of 950 military mail-in ballots, Joe Biden got 950 votes, Trump zero. That’s 100%. That’s virtually impossible to have happen. Not only that, they were in sequential order, that’s also public,” said Fredericks. “If the judge, Judge Amero, makes a declaratory judgement that counterfeit ballots were there, and that some of them were counted twice, that’s the other possibility here, that he’s going to demand that Governor Kemp call a special session and they’re going to start decertifying elections. Trump, Biden,” said Fredericks.

DC Attorney General Files Antitrust Lawsuit Against Amazon
Amazon shares skidded to session lows just before noon ET on Tuesday after Washington DC’s Attorney General Karl Racine unveiled a new anti-trust lawsuit against the e-commerce giant, alleging that the company’s practices have unfairly raised prices for consumers while suppressing competition and innovation.
As a result, the lawsuit is seeking to end Amazon’s use of allegedly illegal price agreements to edge out competitors, recover damages and impose penalties. The lawsuit alleges that Amazon’s conduct made it virtually impossible for third-party sellers to offer goods at a better price than Amazon.
The lawsuit, filed in Washington DC Superior Court, alleged that Amazon illegally maintained monopoly power by using contract provisions to prevent third-party sellers on its platform from offering their products for lower prices on other platforms. The attorney general’s office claimed the contracts create a “an artificially high price floor across the online retail marketplace,” according to a press release. The AG claimed these agreements ultimately harm both consumers and third-party sellers by reducing competition, innovation and choice.
Until 2019, Amazon included a clause in its third-party seller agreement that they couldn’t offer goods on Amazon at a higher price than they were offered on other third-party platforms. Amazon eventually removed that provision amid growing anti-trust scrutiny.
The lawsuit comes as state AGs and the DoJ filed antitrust lawsuits against Google and Facebook; Amazon is also reportedly in the sights of federal regulators. But Tuesday’s action comes from Racine’s office alone.
Racine said on a call with reporters on Tuesday that the central focus of the lawsuit – contracts known as “most favored nation” agreements – was something that he felt should be taken on independently due to the sheer amount of work involved in bringing these types of lawsuits.

Sen. Kelly Townsend AZ, introduced a “strike everything” amendment to HB2190 which has replaced it with legislation relating to prohibiting vaccination requirements/vaccination passports.
The amendment prohibits any business in Arizona from refusing to provide services to someone based on a person’s vaccination status. It would also forbid consideration of someone’s vaccination status to receive a government benefit, service, or permit.
And it would ban local, county, or state public entities from providing any form of incentive -financial or other- to someone who becomes vaccinated.
